While Health Community Services focuses on food and nutrition, Green Infrastructure is a crucial component in managing stormwater.

 

Water Wise 7th Ward has either held or participated in 37 community outreach, education, and social events that have engaged about 893 people in the topic of green infrastructure.

 

Many residents have become Water Wise Neighborhood Champions. These are our neighbors who are trained using the Water Wise Gulf South model and created a list of green infrastructure priority projects in the 7th Ward. To date, the Water Wise 7th Ward Initiative is managing storm water, due to urban flooding, at a storage capacity of 9,047 gallons of water per event.
